Rihanna's bread bag street style goes viral after Met Gala baby bump reveal

The founder of Fenty was spotted at Carbine in NYC with a Moschino bread bag shortly after her Met Gala pregnancy announcement.

Only Rihanna can make a loaf of bread look like high fashion. Days after revealing her pregnancy at the Met Gala, the singer and Fenty mogul was photographed arriving at Carbone in New York’s Greenwich Village — and her outfit once again sparked headlines. The reason? A hyper-realistic handbag shaped like a baguette.

She wore a red striped polo, straight-leg jeans, and snakeskin Amina Muaddi boots. The look was relaxed but still had polish — simple, cool, and totally her. The bag stole the show. It’s a Moschino crossbody designed to look exactly like a French baguette, with a crisp photo print on faux leather, a magnetic closure, and a gold plaque that reads “Made in Heaven.” It came out in the brand’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection and sold for around $1,240.

The moment came just days after she made her pregnancy official on the Met Gala red carpet. Rumors had been swirling, but she shut them down. The theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," celebrated Black fashion and dandyism — and the singer and mother of two showed up with a look that nailed both. She wore a custom Marc Jacobs ensemble: a black wool Spencer jacket, a gray striped bustier bodysuit, and a pinstripe wool skirt with a structured bustle that framed her baby bump. The ensemble was completed with a polka dot cravat, a pique collar, embellished Oxford mules, and a sculptural Stephen Jones hat. Styled by Jahleel Weaver, the look leaned into menswear codes but stayed sharp, elegant, and unmistakably Rihanna.

Then, just days later, she stepped out in the West Village in a look that felt intentionally low-key — part normcore, part tongue-in-cheek. Paparazzi caught her heading into Carbone solo, where she reportedly ate alone for nearly an hour before others joined. Cool, calm, and unbothered — a reminder that Rihanna moves on her own time.

In one week, she gave us both extremes: sharp tailoring and high drama at the Met, then playful streetwear in downtown Manhattan. No fuss, no theatrics — just instinct and control.
