Chris Hemsworth is getting ready to play Thor again. The Australian actor just shared a video of a training session, as he prepares to take on the Thor mantle and bring the character's stunning muscles to the big screen.
The video was shared on Instagram and shows that Hemsworth's physique is well within Thor's range.
The post is made up of two clips that show him practicing various boxing moves against a heavy bag, wearing black shorts and red boxing gloves.
Through the video's runtime, Hemsworth grunts and yells as he punches and kicks the bag, prompting laughs from the person recording the video. "A little Avengers pre-game warm up, coming in hot," he captioned the post, tagging Marvel Studios and his fitness app, Centr.
In previous interviews, Hemsworth has revealed that Thor's physique is a big part of his preparation for the role. In an interview with E! News, Hemsworth shared that he'd trained for six months ahead of the first film.
When the director asked him if he was okay with shooting a shirtless scene, Hemsworth agreed and celebrated, feeling that he had prepared enough for that. In later films, those feelings changed.
"Taika [Waititi], the director, came up to me and said, 'I think we need... a shirt off scene,'" said Hemsworth. "So we did it, and I had to get back into the program."
He revealed that the training is made up of weights and training, and a lot of functional movements. "I'd rather feel good than look big," he said.
The sport that Elsa Pataky can beat Chris Hemsworth at
At a different point in the interview, Hemsworth revealed that he practices certain sports with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and that she's very good at one specifically. "She's just relentless. She doesn't quit," he said.
"Her cardio and stamina are pretty incredible."
Then, he humorously added, "She could bash me."
