Ben Affleck is apparently feeling some regret over his split with Ana de Armas in 2020. The pair met on the set of 'Deep Water,' a psychological thriller directed by Adrian Lyne, and the chemistry between them quickly sparks rumors of a romance.
A new report indicates that following the actor's divorce from Jennifer Lopez, he is reflecting on his previous relationship with the 'Blonde' star. Ana, who recently made headlines for her latest encounter with Tom Cruise, was inseparable from Ben during the lockdown caused by the pandemic, with the pair spotted around Los Angeles spending quality time together.
By January 2021 their relationship seemed to be going strong. However, by early spring, rumors swirled about their breakup, which was reportedly amicable. After nearly a year of dating, the two stars officially called it quits, with sources detailing that Ben was not ready for that level of commitment and the pair having different views on their future
Now, a new source told the Daily Mail that Ben is looking back at the romance with different eyes. "Ben and Ana had such a special and unique relationship because they were holed up together 24/7 during the pandemic," an insider detailed. "They got so close so fast, and it was passionate and real."
The relationship ended "because she wanted marriage, and he did not," the source continued. Ben would later rekindle his love for Jennifer Lopez before their marriage and recent divorce.
"He ended up marrying Jen after not being able to commit to Ana," the source added. "In hindsight, he realizes how wrong this was and sees that he could have dodged the JLo bullet by not ending things with Ana. He knows how she must have felt."
Apparently, Ben "wishes he could go back and do it differently, but he can't. It is too late now, but Ben has much respect for Ana. He hopes she finds what she wants and has a family. He thinks she is an incredible woman."
At the time of their breakup, a source told People that “They have had numerous discussions about their future and they decided together to break up,” while an insider told Page Six that “[Ben] would not commit to having more kids. She is in her 30s. It was a deal breaker.”
