Meanwhile, Barron Trump has had multiple viral moments throughout 2024 and into early 2025—not only for his appearance at the presidential inauguration but also as childhood clips of him resurfaced online. The 18-year-old son of Donald Trump and the first lady has a close bond with his parents, and his mother has openly expressed how proud she is of him.
His latest viral clip gave a glimpse at his Slovenian accent when he was a child, which many believe he is fluent in, as it is Melania's native language. Melania and Donald briefly talked about Barron during an interview with Larry King in 2012, when he was just 4 years old.
The two proud parents shared that Barron spoke three languages at the time. "He speaks three languages, actually," she said in the interview. Fast forward to 2016, Melania said to People that Barrok spoke Slovenian with his grandmother.
"My opinion is that the more languages you speak, better it is," she said to the publication, adding, "but when you come to America, you speak English." However, she did not mention the third language that her son spoke.
In 2020, Mary Jordan, an associate editor for The Washington Post, published an unauthorized biography of Melania Trump titled "The Art of Her Deal." Jordan said during an interview with CBS: "Barron Trump speaks Slovenian, is very close to the father. Both her parents spend huge amount of times in the White House, living there. There's a unit within the family unit, and it's Melania, her mother, her father, and Barron. And they all speak Slovenian."
Melania has previously shared her thoughts about the importance of speaking multiple languages, raising Barron to be bilingual, as she also has a multicultural background and has said to speak Italian, French and German, apart from English and Slovenian.
