President Donald Trump will be welcoming a royal to the White House next week. The Royal Hashemite Court announced on Feb. 2 that King Abdullah II of Jordan has accepted an invitation to meet with the president of the United States.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the court wrote: "His Majesty King Abdullah II is scheduled to meet with #US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, 11 February 2025, after receiving an invitation from President Trump last week #Jordan."

News of the upcoming meeting follows a recent call between the president and the King. The White House shared on Jan. 25 that the president had a call with the King, during which His Majesty congratulated President Trump on his inauguration. Per the White House, "President Trump thanked King Abdullah for his longtime friendship, and the two leaders discussed the importance of regional peace, security, and stability."

It's unclear whether His Majesty will be joined by his wife, Queen Rania. The royal couple both visited the White House in April 2017 and in June 2018 during President Trump's first term. After their 2018 visit, First Lady Melania Trump penned on Instagram, "A great visit with the King & Queen of Jordan. @POTUS & I were glad to welcome them back to the @Whitehouse. @QueenRania & I shared an open & productive discussion about the many issues our countries are challenged with today."

Last month, Rania reunited with First Lady Melania Trump days before the 60th Presidential Inauguration. The Queen and first lady met on Jan. 16, 2025 in Palm Beach, Florida. According to Her Majesty's office, Rania and Melania  "discussed various issues of mutual interest, including children’s welfare, as well as improving their education" during their meeting, which was followed by a lunch. The day after, Her Majesty took to her personal Instagram account to share a photo from the meeting. "It was a pleasure reconnecting with incoming U.S. First Lady Melania Trump in Florida yesterday #Jordan #USA #Florida," Rania captioned the post.

The Queen's husband, King Abdullah, was among the monarchs who congratulated President Trump following his inauguration on Jan. 20. "Wishing President Donald Trump every success as he commences his second term. Congratulations on your inauguration, Mr. President," His Majesty wrote on X. "We greatly value our partnership with the United States and are committed to working with you towards a more prosperous and peaceful world."
