Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have always been committed co-parents, but since his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, they've been spending time together more frequently.
The exes split in 2015, but a source recently told Page Six that they are "closer than they've ever been" and “spending more time together than ever" since they divorced.
What’s bringing them closer?
According to the insider, Affleck’s divorce from JLo, the "LA fires, and everything going on,” have led to the former couple "leaning on each other more than ever."
Affleck and Lopez finalized their divorce on January 6, nearly 20 weeks after she filed for dissolution of marriage. While their marriage is officially over, they still have unfinished business—like the $68 million mansion they’ve been trying to sell since July 2024. According to PEOPLE, they will split the final sale price, though the specific amounts will remain confidential.
Garner and Lopez have both been giving back to Los Angeles in the wake of the recent wildfires, which at one point forced 200,000 people to evacuate. The Batman star volunteered at a homeless encampment, and Garner has been actively involved in relief efforts and even suffered the tragic loss of a friend.
When evacuations were happening she took in her former husband, with photos showing Affleck on his way to Garner's home.
But of course, the biggest reason is their children. The former couple share three children—Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 12, and are always there to support them.
They were recently photoshopped on January 27, leaving a play with Fin in Los Angeles. Fin was holding a bag filled with what looked like clothes, so they must have been in the cast.
Booked and busy
Affleck and Garner also both have projects on the way and could turn to each other for creative inspiration. Affleck is reuniting with Matt Damon for the upcoming Netflix crime thriller RIP, set for release in Fall 2025.
As for Garner, it was revealed this week that she is starring an executive producing The Five-Star Weekend, which will be based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel.
Can there one day be another Bennifer 2.0?
While some fans might be hoping for a Bennifer 2.0 (the Garner edition), a source told People in December that they’re simply friendly exes "Jen's grateful that Ben's doing well. They are friends, but that's it," the insider said.
Besides, Garner has been happily dating John Miller. Although they keep a low profile, a source told the outlet in December that they are still going strong and that she sees him almost every day.
