Kate Middleton stepped out with her grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth on March 19, marking the first time the two royals had embarked on a joint solo engagement since the Duchess married Prince William eight years ago.

Kate and the Queen had attended one other engagement, although not a public one, in 2011 when they viewed the Duchess' Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress on display at Buckingham Palace.
