Hilaria Baldwin used her most recent experience with pregnancy to inspire women across the world. The yoga instructor opened up about possibly suffering a miscarriage last week in a very public Instagram post. Hilaria shared why she chose to get so personal. “I wanted to come out and speak about it because it’s something that so many people deal with,” the 34-year-old said on Today. “As women we’re trained to deal with it silently. I don’t think that we have to live with so much fear.”

The Mom Brain host shared that it’s easier to remain transparent than it is to keep it all in. “For me personality, it would be harder for me to be doing it silent. Then you put the emotion on top of ‘this isn’t going in the right direction.’ and that’s a lot of stuff to beat.” Hilaria, who shares Carmen, five, Rafael, three, Leonardo, two, and ten-month-old Romeo, with husband Alec Baldwin, confirmed that she does not believe she will be able to carry this baby to full term.

“I’m pretty sure that this is not going to stick,” she confessed. However, her understanding with parenthood is another way to cope. “When we agree to be parents, we agree to accept the good and the bad. Whether your child gets a scraped knee or their heartbroken for the first time as a teenager, gets really sick or god forbit something worse. We have to realize that it’s not all just diapers and blankets and hair bows. We have to open our hearts and realize there are going to be hard moments too.”

Part of her journey is sharing pictures of her growing belly bump. After some users commented on the fitness guru showing off her belly, Hilaria revealed that she is treating this experience – though it may be different – like the others. “At the same time, this is my baby, my other babies are my baby and this baby deserves the same kind of love, attention and acceptance as the other ones,” she said. “Even if it’s not going to stick around for very long.”
