Every year summer-borne trends appear with new tropical-inspired swimwear proposals. But this year sustainable brands are bringing a new wave of eco-friendly swimwear collections to inspire us to live longer days under the sunshine. From swimsuit that can be planted once you are done wearing them to maillots from recycled textiles, there is a slew of brands offering unique swimsuits without compromising environmental efforts. While the most minimalist trend of the year is ahead of us, brands are upping the ante on textile technology and style. Lili + Mysa is an environmentally-conscious women’s fashion brand that gives back to the environment. This new sustainable swimwear brand goes beyond the production process enabling the wearer to plant the swimsuit instead of the trash. Each swimsuit plant-seed fiber – allowing them to be planted into the earth and grown into different flowers and herbs making it zero-waste and completely eco-friendly. “The items which are plantable may only be spot treated with cold water and air-dried in order to preserve the seeds,” says the founder Nicole Trovato.
