Barack and Michelle Obama are celebrating a milestone in their relationship! The former first couple rang in their 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, October 3. Michelle took to Instagram to mark the occasion with a heartfelt post. Attached to a throwback photo from their wedding day, the mom-of-two wrote: “Happy 25th anniversary @barackobama. A quarter of a century later, you’re still my best friend & the most extraordinary man I know.  I 💕 you.”

Over the last 25 years, the couple, who tied the knot in 1992, have welcomed two daughters together — Malia, 18, and Sasha, 16. While the former commander-in-chief, 56, has not yet reciprocated his wife’s anniversary post, he hasn't been shy in the past about his affection for his longtime love.

During his final address as the president of the United States in January, Barack praised his wife, 53, saying, “Michelle – for the past 25 years, you've been not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend. You took on a role you didn't ask for and made it your own with grace and grit and style and good humor.”

He continued: "You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. You've made me proud. You've made the country proud."

Since leaving the White House, the pair have taken their love around the globe traveling to Indonesia, Italy, and French Polynesia. The couple recently shared an emotional moment as they dropped their oldest daughter Malia off at Harvard University for her freshman year of college.
