Beyoncé and Adele, favorites for the 2017 Grammy

In a true duel of talents, Adele confronts Beyoncé in the main categories of the 2017 Grammy Awards

The musical competition does not stop, and the preparations for the Grammy Awards, recognizing the best performers and songwriters, are already getting ready. But first, the most important: the nominees. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced the singers competing for a golden gramophone. For the 2017 Grammy Awards Beyoncé leads the list with nine nominations, followed by Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West; with eight each.

Despite her multiple nominations, Beyoncé should not be totally confident on her victory with her ‘Lemonade’ album. Adele, with only five nominations for her album ‘25’, will face Jay-Z's wife in the three strongest categories: Recording, Song and Album of the Year. In the Album of the Year category, they are both competing against Justin Bieber’s ‘Purpose’, Drake’s ‘Views’ and ‘A Sailor's Guide to Earth’ from Sturgill Simpson.

As Latin representatives in this award, stand out Jesse & Joy, Gaby Moreno, Laura Pausini, Sanalejo and Diego Torres, who are nominated for the statuette for the best Latin pop album.

The moment of truth will come on February 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, when English comedian James Corden and a group of special guests will reveal who takes home what award.
