Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan recently awarded a $200,000 scholarship to a young musician hailing from Spain, so that the budding artist may attend the prestigious Berklee School of Music for four years.
There is no doubt the Estefans are a power couple; they are considered icons in the Spanish world with their collective musical experience spanning more than 40 years. Their inspiring story has given hope to many newer generations of musicians who hope to get their big break and achieve their dreams.
The scholarship would allow the young man to finish four years of college at Berklee, which is located in Boston, Massachusetts. De Miguel was chosen as the grand prize winner by the Scholarship Committee of the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation.
