La cantante irlandesa Enya y el compositor Howard Shore ("Seven", "Philadelphia", "El Silencio de los Corderos" y "La Mosca") han sido los responsables de crear la banda sonora de El Señor de los Anillos. Enya ha aportado dos canciones inéditas para esta banda sonora, May It Be y The Council of Elrond.
