The Three Musketeers

It’s not uncommon to dread hanging out with your in-laws. But that is certainly not the case for the ‘J Sisters’, the spouses of brothers Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas (of the Jonas Brothers group), who enjoy an incredibly close relationship with each other. 

Danielle Deleasa, who married eldest brother Kevin in 2009; Sophie Turner, Joe’s other half; and Priyanka Chopra, Nick’s wife, are great friends who enjoy spending time together both at home and on holiday. Speaking to Elle in 2020, Game of Thrones star Sophie spoke about their sweet relationship and how the three help each other, saying: “It’s  nice to have built-in girlfriends, who are actually really cool, who I can hang out with and we can really talk to each other about, like, how crazy the boys’ lives are. We can relate on so many different levels. It’s like, thank God, because you never know [about your in-laws].”

The Jonas Brothers certainly do lead crazy lives. They recorded their first song in 2005 when Nick, the youngest, was just 12, and went on to star in multiple Disney Channel films and series. Their 2006 American Club Tour, the group’s first, saw them give 28 concerts in a period of just over a month. Yet in 2013 the band unanimously decided to split, with their spokesman Jesse Derris telling the press that their future together “remains to be seen”.  Fans were devastated.

But, six years later, good news came. In February 2019 the boys announced that they were back together, and just a few days later released a new single, ‘Sucker’, their first ever number-one hit. And the music video for the song showed the J Sisters in all their glory. Kevin, Nick and Joe serenaded their girls, who were dressed up to the nines, seemingly dedicating the romantic lyrics (one line is “I’m a sucker for you, say the word and I’ll go anywhere blindly”) to their respective loves.

Now, even in their down time the three couples enjoy spending time together, seeing each other as regularly as their busy schedules allow. In January Priyanka reminisced about their dreamy pre-COVID holiday to Mustique, a small Caribbean Island.  

Speaking to Condé Nast Traveller, the actress revealed that while the boys and their producers used the time to write music, the J Sisters were left to their own devices. She recalled how the three “were driving around the island in our golf carts, and the skies burst right open. We stopped our buggies and just basked in the glory of nature”. After returning home, they jumped straight in the pool rather than drying off and ended the evening with a meal together and a bit of karaoke. “Having days like this with the people I’m close to is what vacation is all about,” Priyanka added.
