Madonna and Angelina are of course both famous for their 'rainbow' families. Madonna gave birth to her two eldest, Lourdes and Rocco, before adopting their siblings, David Banda and twins Esther and Stella, from Malawi. She has spoken of her deep gratitude to those in the African country who helped to make this possible.

Actor Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness were unable to have any children naturally, suffering two miscarriages, but they couldn't be happier with their precious son and daughter. The couple found Oscar and Ava in the US after struggling to go through the process in their native Australia. “From the moment we started the adoption process, all the anxiety went away,” Hugh has said, insisting: “I don’t think of them as adopted – they’re our children." Deborra has since founded the organisation Adopt Change in an attempt to help prospective parents in Australia.

Sandra Bullock is a doting mum-of-two after welcoming Louis and two years later, his sister Laila, both via adoption. She has told how Louis helped her to decide that Laila should join them. "When I look at Laila, there’s no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here," Sandra told HELLO! in 2015. "I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time."
Sia took an unconventional approach. She didn't adopt babies or young children, but two teenage boys. The singing star explained: "I actually adopted two sons. They were 18, they were ageing out of the foster care system and I love them." One of her sons has since gone on to have children of his own, so she's now a grandma!
