As a Hollywood star with a decades-long career, Jennifer Garner has seen it all when it comes to beauty trends and transformations. During a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, Ben Affleck's ex got candid about the plethora of beauty procedures available and her own approach to beauty. And as she opened up, the mum-of-three extended both to fans and her own daughters a warning about getting carried away with make-up and injectables.
Jennifer first compared herself to her iconic 13 Going on 30 character, Jenna Rink, and admitted that her attitude could not be more different.
When asked what beauty lessons she wants to instill in daughters Violet and Seraphina she explained: "My advice is always the same: Look in the mirror less, obsess less, and look at the rest of the world to see what you could be using your time for instead."
According to Jennifer, there's too much focus on appearance these days. Hinting that social media plays a part, she said: "We all look at our faces more than people used to, and it doesn't do you any good. You obsess over changes or how to fix something on your face."
The actress isn't happy about the rapidly increasing availability of botox and fillers, and how young people are gravitating towards these. She insists: "Be cautious when it comes to injecting anything into your face. Be very, very incredibly judicious and wait absolutely as long as possible to add anything...
"Don't think that you're 37 and you need to be shooting up your face. You don't need to wear so much make-up or have such a constant blowout."
