Watching loved-up couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck brings back memories. ‘Bennifer’ are planning their wedding – again! The singer and movie star first began dating almost two decades ago, after meeting in 2002 on the set of Gigli.

Within months, Ben popped the question with a huge pink solitaire diamond ring, and they set the date for September the following year. But just days before the ceremony, they called it all off. Both went on to find other partners.

Now, Ben and Jen are once more taking vacations, renting luxury yachts, and even looking at mansions. This time, though, they’re older, wiser, and looking forward to forming a happy blended family with their five children.

They aren’t the only ones who’ve found that time apart – whether days or years - actually confirmed their feelings for each other.
Supermodel Chrissy Teigen and musician John Legend first met in 2006 when she starred in one of his music videos.  After seven years, the celebrity power couple tied the knot. It wasn’t until three years after their glamorous wedding in Lake Como that John admitted he’d once ‘dumped’ Chrissy.

He explained that the break came during their first year and lasted all of 24 hours, thanks to her confident reaction.
It was in the middle of a long tour, when he’d got sick.

“I was really stressed and busy… I was like ‘I’d just be happier single right now’… and she was like ‘No!’” he revealed.
Chrissy's faith in the relationship has been amply repaid. John has both spoken and sung of his deep commitment to her, dedicating romantic ballad All of Me to his wife and mother of their two children.

Even royal romances go through rocky patches. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met as students at St Andrews University in Scotland, where they were able to get to know each other away from the spotlight. It was in spring 2007, after they’d graduated, that they hit a roadblock and decided to split. Media pressure was cited as one of the reasons for the breakup. Plus, they were apart for at least five days a week while Prince William was serving with the Household Cavalry.

Kate handled the split with her characteristic poise, not hiding away but getting out and about with her supportive friends and family. Then, when summer came around, she attended a party at William’s barracks and by the end of the night they were back together. Three years later they announced their engagement.

The Prince has explained, “We were both very young, we were still defining ourselves and we had different personalities, trying to find our way and growing. We gave ourselves a little space; in the end, everything was for the better.”
They’ve gone on to become a brilliant team both personally and publicly, bringing up three gorgeous children and adored by people worldwide.
