A host of royals, celebrities and the
country's greenest-fingered TV personalities flocked to the gala preview day of
the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show last week, the prestigious event which
launches the start of the London summer season.
The Queen was the last royal to
arrive and took a relaxed tour of the

The 5,000 specially invited guests strolled around the 700 lavish horticultural
displays in the grounds of Chelsea's Royal Hospital. The first members of the
royal family to arrive were the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, followed
closely by the Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Kent, whose daughter
Lady Helen Taylor arrived later with her husband Tim. Last to arrive was the
Queen, who took a relaxed tour of the exhibits and stopped off to chat to
gardeners.
Tea followed for the royal party and entertainment from the Garden Opera
Company. Later, the Prince of Wales hosted a black-tie dinner benefitting the
Prince's Trust. |
